Using freeware with Email script
Obi asked that I post something about automating a script I used to email a report to a customer from our report sever. I have a script that runs a report designed in Cognos and attaches it to an email out of Outlook. The only problem with this is that Outlook security patch asks if it’s ok for the program to send an email on my behalf, defeating the purpose of automation. After doing some asking and some research, there is a freeware program called ClickYes that my lan admin agreed to load on our sever. The strict purpose of this freeware is to click yes to the security question mentioned above. Feel free to email me with any questions or if you’d like to see how I set it up.
troubleshooting indexing issues in Outlook 2007
Close Outlook.
Locate a utility program on your computer called FIXMAPI.EXE. The easiest way to find it is to search for it with Windows Find. When found, double-click it to run it. It will probably run quickly and may not produce any visible results.
Restart your computer.
Start Outlook, re-index and see if the problem is resolved

How to schedule a powershell script
The first thing you need to do is make sure that Powershell is set to execute Powershell scripts,
instead of only allowing interactive commands to be run in the Powershell environment.
Type the following at the Powershell command prompt:
set-executionpolicy RemoteSigned
This will allow the system to run Powershell scripts that are created locally (Remote Powershell scripts that may be downloaded must be signed).
Once this is done, you can create your Powershell script using notepad. Just make sure you name the file with an extension of .ps1 .
Now to run the script outside of its Powershell environment you type a command similar to the following:
powershell -command “& script.ps1′ “
Just put the above command into a .bat or .cmd file and schedule it like you would normally schedule a script to be run with Windows task scheduler.
Using Export-Mailbox Powershell Command
Import/Export-Mailbox powershell cmdlets have replaced Exmerge. Below are various ways to use export-mailbox command to export to PST file.
- Exchange Server Administrators role and local Administrators group for the source server and the target server
- Full access to the source and target mailboxes
7. Import entire mailbox to PST file
